Cellar specialist / Brewer – Full Time

Frontaal Brewing Co. has been on the forefront of the craft beer scene since 2015. In 2024, we can proudly say that we are still one of the fastest-growing breweries in the Netherlands. In the last few years we’ve built up the largest beer community in the Netherlands, including up to 6.000 people who are indirectly are co-owner of Frontaal. You might know us of our hero Juice Punch or have drank one of our many one-offs in the last few years. Our mission is simple yet straightforward: crafting flavorful, both traditional and contemporary beers to take our position as one of the top-notch Dutch microbreweries. The slogan "Beer For Thought" isn't arbitrary; it envisions our core values. At Frontaal we place significant emphasis on fostering a sense of teamwork. Our team currently comprises over 50 people, including brewers, sales, marketers, and barstaff.

As of 2024, we’ve moved into a brand-new building in the beautiful town of Breda with a state-of-the-art, 60 hectoliter, automated brewing installation from ROLEC, alongside with a new, fully automated canningline. With our ever-growing team and brewery, we’re on the lookout for a cellar manager to join our stellar brewteam! Job responsibilities: Bringing expertise and developing in the cold block within a larger team of talented brewers at Frontaal. Responsible for all processes from the CCT to the BBT, ensuring the highest quality at every stage up to packaging. You will also be part of the wider production team, participating in the full process to create quality beers. This includes everything from recipe design to canning and kegging runs. You’re responsible for working closely with the other brewers to ensure production is on schedule and can continue.

This is all we want to do, we brew beers that inspire, excite and challenge you to drink something different. There are so many flavours and variations to explore, which is why we brew over 48 unique specials and 12 barrel aged beers every year. We think from the principle "F*ck the status quo" and we do not make any concessions in quality. No mediocre beer is brewed in our brewery, we think freely and let our creativity flourish.

Cellar specialist / Brewer – Full Time

Responsibilities:

Cold-Block specialist:

  • Responsible for fermentation management and cellaring – including purge regimes, cropping, dry-hopping and other additions

  • Responsible for setting best-practice and SOPs for the Cold-Block, including CIP regimes.

  • Dry hopnik specialist

  • Centrifuge specialist

  • Responsible for top-quality and timely transfers of beer to BBT.

 Active player in production:

  • Assist brewers with all aspects of brew preparation

  • Master wort production (within 6 months)

  • Design and brew Frontaal beers!

  • Brewmaxx: Brewmaxx software specialist; able to teach/lead all processes from wort production, to CIPs and transfers.

  • Part of the team ensuring fermentation management and cellaring are best in class – including purge regimes, cropping, dry-hopping and other additions

  • Does quality control checks together with the lead brewer.

 Target-setting:

  • Set losses and DO targets at CCPs for 3/6/12 months

  • Set DryHopnick and centrifuge optimization pathways

Packaging:

  • Bring your experience on packaging to reduce O2 pick-up to minimal levels

  • Hands-on approach to continuously optimize processes

  • Ensure quality control

General

  • Clean: keep Frontaal as good as new

  • Improvement: always on the look-out for process/quality improvements

Canning line The Bay

Cellar specialist / Brewer – Full Time

Responsibilities:

 Qualifications:

✓ Mastery of the brewing process and practices;

✓ Mastery of the cellaring processes and practices;

✓ Able to follow recipes and our standard operating procedures;

✓ Minimum of 2 year brewing experience in a commercial brewery is required;

✓ A formal brewing education is desirable;

✓ Experience with brewing software (similar to Brewmaxx / OrchestratedBEER / Breww);

✓ The ability to work well as part of a team as well as on your own;

✓ Strong English spoken and written communication skills (Dutch is not mandatory).
